What is Christian Science? It is based on the teachings and healings of Christ Jesus. The church was founded by Mary Baker Eddy to “…reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing.” more»

The pastor of the Christian Science church is the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, as ordained by our church’s founder, Mary Baker Eddy.

Readers, elected by fellow church members, read the Sunday Bible Lesson-Sermon made up of passages from these two books.

Worldwide, Christian Scientists study the same Bible Lesson-Sermon during the week and are strengthened by this spiritual unity.

On Wednesdays, the first Reader presents brief topical readings from the books, followed by testimonies of healing from the congregation.

Sunday

At the Sunday service, we sing hymns, pray together and listen to a thought-provoking, healing sermon read from the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.

The sermon comes from the Christian Science Quarterly Bible Lessons, available in any Christian Science Reading Room or online in a variety of formats.

Twenty-six subjects are covered twice a year in the weekly Bible Lessons. Across the globe, Christian Scientists read and study the same sermon the previous week and hear it read as part of the Sunday service.

Wednesday

At the Wednesday meeting, the service begins with inspiring readings from the Bible and Science and Health. Then, members and visitors voluntarily share gratitude and testimonies of healing they’ve had as a result of using Christian Science.

Music

The Christian Science Hymnals contain a wide variety of music, from traditional hymns to folk songs. A professional organist provides music for the services, and, at the Sunday service, a solo is sung with a spiritual message relevant to the day’s Lesson-Sermon.

Sunday School
10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Students are taught from the Bible.
The first lessons are the:
▪ Ten Commandments,
▪ Lord’s Prayer and its
   spiritual interpretation,
▪ Sermon on the Mount.

As students progress, the classes discuss questions and answers from the weekly Christian Science Bible Lessons.

Sunday School teachers are church members who have a love for young people, for the Bible and Science and Health, and who use Christian Science in their daily lives.

Sunday School students learn how to apply the spiritual laws of God to their activities, including school, sports, and relationships. They also learn how to live as modern-day disciples of Jesus and heal physical and other problems.
